Day 4

This is Dane… I am in Belgrade… That is in Serbia… it is really hot…

So, I know I said that I would blog daily about this trip… but i didn’t realize how difficult it would be to use any sort of american technology over here… I just got a converter for my laptop plug today… and I was supposed to have my cell working… but AT&T SUCKS ASS!!!  Thats correct… the worst phone company in the world. [Freedom of Speech Here] DO NOT USE AT&T/ CINGULAR EVER!!! THEY Will Screw You!  yeah.. I spoke with them several times to make sure i would be able to use an international sim card… and they gave me an unlock code that jeapordized my ability to use my brand new phone ever again… If I had entered one more of their faulty unlock codes, i would have permanently locked out my brand new 350 dollar phone..

and that is in addition to the other 4 plus years of shitty service.

When we got to London we had to walk forever with our luggage, in addition to the couple trains we had to take… went out to a biker bar/pub that night… no motorcycles… just vespas, rock music, and redstripe… akward.  Got to pee in the middle of a busy intersection.. I thought it was a phone booth, but sure enough, it was a urinal station… the most liberating feeling i’ve ever had in my life.

the next day we went to the airport (heathrow) and flew to belgrade.

anyway… we got to belgrade and its cool… The women are stunning, but unlike the stereotypes they have in America about eastern european broads … it seems as though almost nothing is sexualized… unlike in the states… where sex sells everything… quite hypocritical of us, if i do say so.

the history here is very rich… rich with war…  the showers are funky, and it takes a little while to figure out how to flush a toilet… Went into a bar/club type cafe… and they have toilets with no doors… I guess those are for the guys, cuz there was a toilet that the chicks use that is a normal restroom with a door.  drinks are cheap… i cashed in 60 dollars and got 3,790 dinars.  I got plenty money.

Baba Goca is a hip, hip old lady… the elderly are out walking around at 2 in the morning, just hanging out, having a drink, and chilling.   When they toast over drinks, they say Jivalee, which comes from the word meaning “to live”.

And there is graffitti every where… I guess there are designated areas where one can tag up…

I wanted to hear more serbian music, but so far i’ve heard Sean Paul, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, DMX, Ja Rule, and Tupac…

Whatever… I’ll post up some pics once i get the chance.
